More Accurate Timestamps with SP1 Firmware Update

SP1 firmware version 1.2.0 has been release which includes an improved method for image timestamping and fixes several bugs of the previous release.

Today the new firmware version 1.2.0 for the SP1 stereo vision sensor has been released. This update includes a new feature that allows the SP1 to produce more accurate timestamps. It is now possible to record the time at which a trigger signal was generated. This timestamp is then associated with the captured camera images and then transmitted together with the processing results.

This new method greatly improves the timestamp accuracy, as the obtained timestamp is no longer affected by camera internal and image transfer specific delays. More information about this new feature can be found in the updated manual in Sections 7.3 and 8.5.

The new firmware version also corrects several bugs that existed in the previous release. A full list of changes can be found in the Firmware Changelog.
