Auto Exposure in Adv. Camera Settings vs Auto Exposure Settings Tab

Hello,

we have a question about the auto exposure settings in the web interface. There are two places we can edit those settings.
One place is directly directly at "Auto Exposure" in the sidebar, the other one is a sub setting in "Adv. Camera Settings". Besides the fact that some auto exposure function seems to be active the setting in "Adv. Camera Settings" is off. When we turn the exposure setting to "Continious" in the advanced settings tab. The exposure time won't be calculated correctly instead it is switched between very short and long exposure times.

So the question is, is it correct that the auto exposure is turned off in the "Advanced settings" tab, but is in reality still on due to the settings in "Auto Exposure"?

We are using firmware version 4.0.0.

Best regards
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

the settings on the advanced camera settings page are provided directly by the cameras. Cameras typically have the ability to perform auto-exposure, but normally we don't use this. The reason is that we don't want each camera to control it's exposure independently, but rather we want equal exposure settings for both cameras.

That's were the settings on the "Auto Exposure" page come in: when auto exposure is activated on this page, SceneScan will put both cameras to manual mode, and compute the exposure itself. This way we can guarantee that both cameras will use the same exposure settings. When this method is activated, the camera's auto exposure feature should be disabled.

Regards,
Konstantin
