Calibration Resolution

Nerian,

I wanted to ask quick if there were any recommendations as to what resolution you should calibrate the camera at? The system we have runs at 800x320 and I wasn't sure if it might be more accurate to calibrate at the highest resolution possible and then modify the yaml file to be instead for 800x320 (i.e can you get a better model of the lens that way).

Hi Kieran,

it's not so easy to modify the YAML file, as you would have to convert both, the projection center and the measured focal length. I recommend calibrating at the resolution you are going to use. Please check the reprojection error that you get. For smaller image resolutions like the one you are using, a reprojection error below 0.1 pixels indicates a good calibration.
